BEIJING, Nov. 23 (Xinhua) -- The following are the updates on the global fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.

SAO PAULO -- Brazil has registered 194 new deaths from COVID-19 in the last 24 hours, bringing the national death toll to 169,183, the Ministry of Health said on Sunday.

Meanwhile, the number of infections went up by 18,615, bringing the nationwide tally to 6,071,401, the ministry said.

SANTIAGO -- Chile's Ministry of Health on Sunday reported 1,497 new daily cases of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19), bringing the total caseload to 540,640.

Meanwhile, the number of daily COVID-19 fatalities came to 39, raising the death toll to 15,069.

ANKARA -- Turkey reported 6,017 new COVID-19 patients on Sunday, raising the total number of infections in the country to 446,822, the Turkish Health Ministry announced.

Meanwhile, 139 people died in the past 24 hours, taking the death toll to 12,358.

LONDON -- Another 18,662 people in Britain have tested positive for COVID-19, bringing the total number of coronavirus cases in the country to 1,512,045, according to official figures released Sunday.

The coronavirus-related deaths in Britain rose by 398 to 55,024, the data showed.
