FARAH, Afghanistan -- A total of eight militants have been confirmed dead as fighting planes struck the Taliban hideout in Balablock district of the western Farah province on Saturday, said an army statement released here Sunday.

SAO PAULO -- Brazil reported 1,202 deaths from the COVID-19 pandemic in the last 24 hours, making Saturday the fifth consecutive day of more than 1,000 deaths, bringing the death toll to 216,445, the ministry of health reported Saturday.
