RIO DE JANEIRO, May 27 (Xinhua) -- Winger David Fonseca scored in the 91st minute as Sao Paulo clinched a 2-1 home win over Goias in Brazil's Serie A championship on Saturday.
Maguinho gave the visitors the lead just before the half hour with a precise header after a Diego Fagundes cross.
The hosts equalized through Pablo Maia, who rifled home from outside the area after combining with Alisson Castro.
Fonseca, who replaced Alisson in the 85th minute, sent the home fans into wild celebrations with a fist-time effort from the edge of the six-yard box that flew into the bottom-left corner.
Sao Paulo are now third in the 20-team standings with 15 points from eight games, three points behind leaders Botafogo, who have a game in hand. Goias are 16th, eight points further back.
In other Brazilian Serie A fixtures on Saturday, Coritiba drew 1-1 at Cuiaba, Flamengo were held to a 1-1 home draw by Cruzeiro, Fortaleza won 2-0 at home to Vasco da Gama and Gremio prevailed 2-1 at Athletico Paranaense.
